An utterly talented stylist and hard working mum of four we were super lucky to have the opportunity to speak with Rayna Hardwick. Taking Instagram by storm, her stunning country home is styled with some of the most beautiful designer pieces including her Jonquil sheets.
In this interview, she shares with us her design style, styling tips and her thoughts on Jonquil.
How and why did you end up becoming an Interior stylist?
It’s actually something I fell into. I’ve always loved interiors, and when I started documenting the build of our country house via my Instagram page @living_life_and_style I came across some amazing products which I styled and photographed in my own home. Brands then began contacting me asking if I could style their products.
How would you describe your style?
Transitional- traditional with a modern twist.
How do you come up with ideas for your styling projects?
The product I’m working with often provides inspiration, colours and textures send my brain into creative overdrive.
Do you have a go-to place/site to find inspiration for styling?
I love @oh.eight.oh.eight and @threebirdsrenovations
What do you think would be the next bedroom styling must-have in the next season?
Indoor plants! Green is the Pantone colour of the year and a plant is a great way to bring that into a room. Whether it be a large potted plant in a corner or something small on your bedside table, plants bring a room to life. I’m obsessed with orchids.
What’s your secret to a restful night of sleep?
I have 4 young children, so I’m always tired. A beautiful bedroom with luxurious linens and the smell of a scented candle definitely help me relax.
What is the first thing that you look out for when you’re picking your bedding?
Quality. There’s nothing better than good quality bed linen.
What’s the concept behind the way you’ve decided to style Jonquil’s bedding in your photo shoot?
The signature crochet quilt cover has the most beautiful detailing that I didn’t want to overshadow. So I kept the styling quite simple, pairing it with soft pinks but also a charcoal throw so it doesn’t feel too feminine.
What did you like most about Jonquil’s bedding?
The quality is outstanding.
Why did you pick this colour scheme for your bedroom?
Grey and white is such a great base and very calming in a bedroom, but It also means I can change the quilt cover, cushions and throw and achieve a totally different look.
How would describe your sleep experience with Jonquil in one word?
Any special projects you're looking forward to?
I’m currently working on a beach house in Perth with a relaxed Scandinavian feel.
